SharePod works like a charm! :) #software #music #iTunes

So I tonight I tried out a program called "SharePod" which I learned about through a CNET article. I even retweeted it so I could have the article saved. I knew I wanted to try this right away as I've been looking for this kind of program for awhile.

I have a couple of older generation iPods at home that house hundreds of thousands of songs amassed from the last five or so years. Some of these songs aren't housed in my current laptop and as the article states, Apple makes it unnecessarily difficult to extract songs and save them to PC. That's where SharePod comes in.

I don't typically write about software or blog much period -- but my first experience with SharePod was so good that I decided to write up this post. After downloading the software, moving music to your PC is quite simple. There are buttons that say "save to PC" and you simply select the songs you want saved. A pop-up comes up of where exactly you want these mp3s saved, and there's a checkbox you mark if you also want these songs imported to iTunes. And that's it!

You can't have SharePod open with iTunes, but once you exit the program and open up the latter, you'll see that all songs (and album art) have been imported to your iTunes library. From there you can load these songs onto your current iPod/iPhone that have been lacking the tunes of yesteryear.

I'm now going to import some 400 songs to my 4S, some of which I forgot I had owned in the first place! Definitely give this program a try if you are in this iPod predicament as well. It's super easy to use and does the job well :)
